And the journey begins.
Today's excursion was all about somatic sensory experience—the shade on my skin, the texture of the concrete path, the broken shells, and the dark, cool forest dirt on my feet. The sound of the spring birds and the rhythmic lulling of the waves on the beach, breathing in the wisdom of impermanence. The friendly acknowledgment of fellow walkers, the dripping water of fresh mountain streams running/falling down rocks, flowing as dark, muddy scars through a white sand beach, into the grey-green ocean.
Deeply grounding with breathwork and meditation on an ancient rock in the middle of Piet se Bos (Pieter’s Forest), hearing the ocean murmuring, and the footsteps of wanderers peeking out above the birdsong and leaves fluttering in ocean winds, and the far-off construction hum co-creating with the ever-present mycelium voice of THE SILENCE. Connecting with an old milkwood tree and feeling how the gentle touch expands my sense of being, levitating between earth and sky. Recognition of earth time, rock time, tree time, nature time, human time, and sky time intersecting in present time within the energy fields of somatic experiences. Seeing the shimmering shadow play of the forest floor and the invitation of ‘windows’ or portals to peek through and join what is beyond this thin veil. I see, I feel.
Walking barefoot through a picnic pasture adorned with yellow and purple spring flowers, my feet pierced by grassy thorns hidden within the purple flowers' dark green body. A reminder to not fetishize, an invitation just to feel.
Photos include a crunchy shell-laden beach, a sandy shell mandala, a cool, soft milkwood tree, and an altar for this project with the intention of deep listening.
